Boo !

For Halloween this year, Emma dressed up as Raggedy Ann, and Brayden dressed up as the Blue Power Ranger. Mom and Dad passed on dressing up this year, but Dad is planning a creative costume next year. ...Enjoy!

Brayden decided to wear my costume after trick-or-treating was done. He called it the "yawn" mask.

Birthdays!

Fall is one of our favorite times of the year because we get to celebrate both Brayden and Emma's birthdays, with Halloween quickly to follow. Brayden turned 4 and Emma turned 2 this year. We celebrated with a Mario and Peach Princess theme, with 20+ kiddies @ the house.

San Jose Sharks - Teal & White game 9/16/09

Thanks to Kristine, Brayden and I got to go to this year's Teal & White game. After a long 2 hour wait in a few lines, we finally made our way to get autographs by Patrick Marleau, Devon Setoguchi, Thomas Greiss, and 2 other guys I've never heard of. :-)

I'm especially loving this part of the year. The Giants are in the wildcard race, the Redskins are...well, playing...albeit not that well, and the Sharks are beginning their quest for that elusive Stanley Cup. I'd include the Warriors in this discussion, but they have become such a pathetic franchise, it's tough to muster enough energy to watch a whole season of them.

Emma's Christening

What a great way to spend Father's Day.... Emma was baptised on June 15th in front of family and friends. Please click on the link below and "Start Slideshow". Special thanks to Auntie Cheryl and Grandma Belen for allowing Emma to wear Cheryl's baptism outfit....yes, Grandma kept it all these years!

March/April - Yeah, I'm way late on this post.

Wow, it's been 5 months since my last post. Time flies. We've been so busy this year, I just never found the time to gather any thoughts together to write. Where do I begin?

In March, Emma had a milestone and started to eat something other than breastmilk or formula. Serve up the rice cereal. She did pretty well right off the bat.

Next up in late March....Easter. Each year, the Windemere community puts together an Easter Egg hunt open to all residents. We have a lot of families living here, but something tells me that more than Windemere residents were in attendance. The Easter Egg hunt is a mess. Brayden participated in the 1-3 year old age group. As the organizers scattered plastic eggs across the roped off lawn area, I figured parents would let their kids roam free to grab eggs. I was wrong. I made the mistake of letting Brayden into the lawn area alone once the whistle blew, and he was almost trampled by a hoard of adults grabbing eggs themselves. Seriously, 95% of kids in this age group can handle picking up eggs on their own. Brayden ended up getting 3 eggs, 2 of which were given to him by a nice lady who was carrying a baby too small to walk. These pictures were taken in the 10yr old and up group. Still, I can't believe that some parents were in on the egg gathering.

April brings yet another milestone for Emma. She's now sitting up on her own and has transitioned into the excer-saucer.

Snip...Snip....Buzz

Brayden received his first real haircut last Saturday. (His previous cut was a quick one done by Mommy and Daddy.) It wasn't as traumatic as we thought it would be. Brayden sat on Daddy's lap, and the lady began to use the hair clippers on his sides. Brayden cringed quite a bit because of the noise of the clippers, but held still for the most part. When she switched to scissors for the top of his head, he was completely fine.

For being such a trooper throughout the process, the hairdresser gave him a couple of balloons (one of which we lost at Costco later in the day), and Daddy and Mommy gave him a Sharks jersey.

Princess Emma Rae

Here are the latest photos of our little girl. Brayden often calls her "princess".

Our Lefty QB - The next Steve Young

When it comes to sports (and academics), Brayden picks up things quite easily. Before he was 2, he learned his alphabet, could count to 14, and can memorize just about anything including songs, phrases, etc. He can easily dribble a soccer ball while running, hit a baseball both off a tee and if tossed to him, hit golf balls, shoot a basketball.....and throw a football.

Frosty the Snowman

This past Saturday, Windemere put together a Breakfast with Santa event. Rather than wait for an hour in line to take a picture with Santa, we opted for a 20 second wait to take a picture with Frosty. Brayden was a bit shy. I guess you can't blame him. Most 2 year olds could get a bit spooked when a 6ft tall snowman with a pipe in his mouth approaches him. He seemed to warm up to him (excuse the play on words) later on, and even gave Frosty a high five as we left for home.

Holiday Celebration with Friends

The Radley's were kind enough to open up their house for their friends on Sunday, for a holiday celebration. We're fortunate to have such wonderful friends. We look forward to our kids continuing to play with their kids as they grow older. Here are some pictures from the gathering. (Unfortunately, Emma Rae couldn't make it due to her first cold.)

1 Sticker + 1 Two-Year Old = Vandalized Baby's Forehead

Brayden loves to play with stickers. Emma Rae loves to sleep. If we turn our backs, these two things don't go well together. Brayden managed to "share" a sticker with Emma Rae's forehead. Good thing she didn't wake up! 12/10/07

Hey Look, I'm a Bridge!

A daily routine for Brayden is playing with his Geotrax trains. Thanks to our wonderful friend Leanna, who gave him his first Geotrax setup, we've managed to acquire a lot more tracks, bridges, and trains. Now, all we need is a $300 Pottery Barn train table! Time to scour craigslist.org.

Here are images of Brayden the Train Conductor and Brayden the Bridge.

Our beloved Redskins got their lunch handed to them by the rival Eagles today. Blowing a 20 point 4th quarter lead is just plain horrible. Our consolation came in the form of our wonderful kids. Brayden is showing what a great big brother he is. Let it be known that if someone messes with Emma, Brayden is going to lay down a canawhoopass on them.
